Welcome to Introduction to Sociology!
Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to Introduction to Sociology! This course provides students with an understanding of human behavior and how people act, react, and interact in groups and how these actions affect society. Over the next twelve weeks, our class will examine the following topics: human relationships and collective behavior, crime and social control, drugs, alcohol, prejudice, social and economic stratification, and how attitudes and beliefs shape behavior. Students are expected to be able to integrate current events in their discussions and to complete individual and collaborative assignments/projects.
In order to ensure success in Introduction to Sociology, students will need to visit this wiki page frequently. Use the navigation bar at the right of the page to find the readings and assignments for each chapter. It is suggested that students bookmark this page for quick access in the future.
I am committed to helping students as they grow academically and spiritually at Peoria Notre Dame. Please feel free to seek assistance before school, during advisory, or after school. I am available M-W mornings at 8:00 a.m., during advisory in Room E-23 during A and B, and after school each day until 3:45 p.m. I am also available via e-mail at [email protected]. Please don't hesitate to ask for help.
Let's have a great trimester!
